Fertility Patient Videos
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO INFORMATION ON THE VIDEOS – Since the videos were recorded there have been some changes to the medication we prescribe and the information we give.
- The drug Menopur® has been replaced with Meriofert®. Please follow the instructions given to you by the nurse you see in clinic.
- The drug Gonopeptyl® is sometimes replaced with Prostap®, it is used in the same way.
- Please read the paper leaflet we give you prior to egg collection as there are a few changes in that we no longer ask patients to do a pregnancy test on the day of egg collection to check that the hCG injection has worked and we now encourage you to drink clear fluids on the morning of your egg collection up until 2 hours before the procedure.
Please note our Single Embryo Transfer (eSET) criteria have changed since this video was recorded. The most up to date information will be given to you by fertility clinic staff.
-If you are 39 years old, your embryos may qualify for blastocyst culture if they meet criteria.
-If you are 39 years or older, you will be offered blastocyst culture if your embryos meet criteria.
This page is intended solely for the use of current patients of the Shropshire and Mid Wales Fertility Centre who are about to undergo a treatment cycle. The information contained within can be referred back to at any time and during any future treatments.
The two videos below, named “Your treatment cycle” and “embryologist presentation”, must both be watched by you (the patient) and your partner (if you have one) before coming in to sign your consent forms. You will not be allowed to continue with your treatment unless you can confirm that you have watched them. Please allow approximately 40-45 minutes to view both of the videos. If you have any questions after watching the videos please note them down. You can speak to a nurse at your next appointment or call the nurses or scientists on 01743 261202.
Please note that embryoscope (time lapse incubation) is now standard for all treatments and is no longer an additional charge.
IMPORTANT – Treatment processes at other clinics will vary and this is not intended to be a general information source for patients being treated at other clinics or for members of the public. Always refer to the instructions and information given at your own clinic.
