Support

At the Shropshire and Mid Wales Fertility Centre we pride ourselves on having caring, empathetic staff who understand how you could be feeling and are well placed to offer support if necessary. There are many ways you can access emotional support during your fertility journey.

Shropshire and Mid Wales Fertility Centre are working together with national charity Fertility Network UK to launch a new patient-led support group. The face to face meetings have been cancelled until further notice due to COVID-19 and replaced by peer group support meeting via zoom on the fourth Thursday of the month. Please refer to the fertility network UK website and social media for updates on these meetings. As a clinic we will provide expert speakers at the meetings covering the topics you request, but as a peer led group other sessions are independent of our staff. This group is open to all affected by fertility issues, you do not have to be a patient registered with us and you are assured a warm welcome.

Shropshire and Mid Wales Fertility Centre employ a qualified counsellor who specialises in fertility counselling and her appointments are open to both NHS and self funded patients. NHS patients can be referred to the counsellor by their clinician/nurse. There is currently a charge of £44 per session for self funded patients. Please call the unit on 01743 261202 to book an appointment.

We also run a monthly open evening. Again, face to face meetings are currently postponed so this is now being run as a telephone clinic on the first Wednesday of the month between 6-8pm. Please email the fertility unit leaving your phone number  if you’d like a free telephone consultation at the next open evening.

More information about Fertility Network UK can be found in their leaflet.
