Donor in-vitro fertilisation
Donor IVF involves the use of sperm from a donor rather than the male partner. It is available for heterosexual couples where no sperm are available from the male, same sex couples and single women where IVF is considered the best form of treatment.
Other than the fact that donor sperm is being used the procedure is exactly the same as that used for conventional IVF.
The law and regulations surrounding the use of donor sperm are the same as those used for Donor Insemination.
